INDUSTRIAL DESIGN | The Aalto Vase Reinterpreted in Laser Cut Steel :: by Ronen Kadushin
Designer Ronen Kadushin’s Flataalto flower holder is an open design (thanks!) cover version of Alvar Aalto’s ageless mouth-blown glass Savoy vase from 1936.
The Flataalto flower holder is ready for laser cutting. The curves are all arcs, with no hidden lines or layers. Ronen recommends using 1.5 mm stainless steel or 1.5 – 2 mm “mild” steel for your vase.
Once it’s assembled, simply place your favourite receptacle in the Flataalto’s base and away you go! My choice for the secondary vase? A tiny clear Savoy with tulips:
