ARCHITECTS + PHOTOGRAPHY | Oscar Niemeyer Exhibition :: From Brasília to Avilés :: Instituto Cervantes, Porto Alegre

Exposição Oscar Niemeyer | Oscar Niemeyer Exhibition

The Instituto Cervantes de Porto Alegre is celebrating the work of Brazil’s foremost architect, Oscar Niemeyer.

Niemeyer: Brasília to Avilés is a 30-piece photographic tribute spanning the years since Brasília was inaugurated in 1960 to the completion of Niemeyer’s largest European project, in Avilés, Spain, in 2010.

The exhibition features thirty 70 x 50-cm works from the Centro Cultural Internacional Oscar Niemeyer in Avilés depicting the life and work of Niemeyer, Brasília to Avilés.

If you’re in the neighbourhood, drop in and take a peek.

Click on the screenshot below for an architectural tour of the new Centro Niemeyer. You’ll find some amazing photographs of Avilés taken during the opening week of the Centre from photographers who made the pilgrimage to this newest Niemeyer.

Spain joins the list of countries that have the privilege of having on its territory a genius work of a Brazilian.
