We were in Brussels in 2008, the 50th anniversary of the Brussels World’s Fair.

We took transit everywhere and saw the city with new eyes.

Streetcars somehow civilize a city.

We were so impressed with the Bombardier Flexity trams and thought, “wouldn’t these be great back home in Vancouver?”

Well, thanks to the Olympics, we got a second chance to ride these exceptionally handsome streetcars.

Then, after the Paralympics were over, the trams were sent back home to Belgium. A sad day for the city.

We want them back!
