I’m not a big fan of Google’s logo. And most of their “doodles” don’t excite me. Thus, it was with pleasure that I saw the first Google Doodle of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

I was blogging away blithely sometime after midnight on the day the games began, and needed to do a search on something. So, I clicked on Google and there it was, the first in the series. I liked it. I liked how the doodle stretched across the page (a first for Google’s home page?). I liked the retro elements (see the “trees” below), and I especially liked the colours (which don’t relate at all to the Look of the Games graphics.

These doodles are way above average for Google. Bravo!
